After Getting 3 Tickets
Rabbi Turns School Speed Trap
Into 20 mph Thought Moments!
Slow Down and Start Thinking!
While the community remains irate over the Nassau County controversial speed camera program, Rabbi Anchelle Perl is urging the community to slow down.
‘After already receiving three tickets for passing a school over the speed limit,’ reports Rabbi Perl, ‘my daily trek to work was becoming a little too expensive. So with $240 already invested in the Nassau Traffic and Parking Violations Agency, it was time to get some return on my endowment.’
So each day as I crawl by the school, I now repeat the following to myself:
A. Wow! I have now become more aware of this school here, working hard to educate the next generation.
B. I send out a silent thank you to the teachers at that school, for their dedication and commitment to the pupils. It reminds me to appreciate my many teachers who played a major role in my own life.
C. Let us never take the younger generation for granted, they are looking up to us for guidance and direction.
D. I keep thinking that while we are required to slow down on the outside of the school, we should also learn to slow down on the inside of our own lives, ever to be mindful of being a good example of moral standing, education and kindness.
Great! I made it, I am now out of the School Zone, and I can now stop thinking and can get back to reality, with my pedal to the metal!
